On Tuesday evening in Scottsdale, Arizona, a rollover accident injured a man and woman, sending both the hospital.
The crash occurred at about 6:45 p.m., near Cactus Road and Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard.
Scottsdale Police Department spokesman, Officer David Pubins, stated that the crash happened when the male driver of a Ford pickup truck lost control of the vehicle, swerving off the road and rolling. The truck burst into flames in the process.
Both occupants were reported to have been ejected during the wreck, and it has been stated that the woman was not wearing her seat belt. She suffered serious injuries and was taken to Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn hospital.
Spokesman for the Scottsdale Fire Department, Captain Danny Ables, informed that the male driver reportedly suffered burns to his hands and feet. He was airlifted to Maricopa County Hospital's burn unit for treatment.
It is unclear at this time what exactly caused the driver to lose control of the pickup.
Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard was shut down between Cactus and Thunderbird for an investigation by police, and for cleanup crews to clear the streets.
