This Wednesday morning in Phoenix, Arizona, an car accident with a man on a bicycle occured, killing the cyclist.
Phoenix Police Department informed that crash took place in the south Phoenix area, at the intersection of 19th Avenue and Broadway road.
Phoenix police spokesman, Officer James Holmes, stated that the man who was hit has been identified as 20-year-old Luis Edwardo Santall.
He went on to say that Santalla had been heading westbound, crossing in the crosswalk on Broadway Road, when a Salt River Project truck hit him while the vehicle was turning south on 19th Avenue.
Holmes reported that the driver did in fact stop, and that impairment is not suspected to be a factor in this instance. It was reported that the driver was being cooperative.
It is unclear if the truck driver will be cited for his involvement in the collision.
The cause of the crash is not clearly known at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.
