Last Saturday evening in Prescott Valley, Arizona, a teenager was badly injured, as the driver of a car failed to control his vehicle, causing a violent pedestrian-car accident.
Prescott Valley Police Department officials stated that the pedestrian accident occured at about 6:55 p.m. at Viewpoint Drive and Pronghorn Drive.
Officials say the 15-year-old boy had been crossing the street when he was struck by the vehicle. Apparently, the driver of the car continued driving for a short while, then stopped for a brief pause before driving away without any regard for the safety and health of the teenage boy.
Police are describing that vehicle that was involved in this incident as being a beige-colored passenger car, possibly having a broken headlight.
The pedestrian victim was taken to Yavapai Regional Medical Center East Campus for his numerous injuries. He was later transported to Phoenix Children's hospital for additional evaluation and treatment. His injuries were described by police as serious but not life-threatening.
Police are still in pursuit of the vehicle who hit the teenager and fled.
As a Phoenix car accident attorney, it is always unbelievable to see how some people can act in such a heartless way when in this sort of situation. As of now, we do not know why the driver didn't stop and check on the boy when he very likely would have known that he had hit someone or at least, something big. It is certainly hoped that someone will come forward with more information that may lead to the arrest of the hit and run suspect.
We, at our Phoenix car crash law firm, hope for the speedy and full recovery of the teenage victim in this incident.
