Phoenix Train-Pedestrian Accident, Man Dies By Decapitation

Early last Friday morning in Phoenix, a man was killed in a freak train-pedestrian accident, upon being struck by a supplier train.

The victim, reportedly in his 40s, was decapitated by the train and died instantly.

The horrific incident is believed to have happened at about 7 a.m. near the area of 27th Avenue, at the railroad tracks that lie just north of Lincoln Street. The conductor of the Union Pacific train informed police of the body immediately.

At first, when Phoenix Police Department officers arrived on the scene, it was unclear whether to treat this case as an accidental or suicide death case, or a homicide. For now, they have decided on a death investigation, as there are no immediate reasons to believe that the man who died was murdered elsewhere and that the body was then placed on the train tracks.

Some involved in the case believe that unidentified man could have been hitching a ride on the train illegally. They think it's possible that he may have tried jumping across cars while the train was on the go.

At this point, until investigators can put the all the pieces together, any scenario that the media or we, at our Phoenix pedestrian accident law firm, come up with is purely speculative.

This is truly a strange case and in all of my years as an Arizona accident lawyer, I have never seen one quite like it.

Our thoughts go out to the family of this man, who is still unidentified at this time. We will update you as to how and why this man died as information becomes available.
